Three of America's choreographic greats are on display in Pacific Northwest Ballet's final show of the 2015/16 season.
Program
Fancy Free
(Leonard Bernstein / Jerome Robbins)
A witty and well-loved piece, Jerome Robbins Fancy Free takes us on a night on the town with two sailors on shore leave. Joy and exuberance fill the stage as our intrepid explorers search for partners to share the dance on their evening of freedom.
Square Dance
(Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli / George Balanchine)
George Balanchine's classic Square dance compares the common roots in American Folk Dance and Classical ballet. Well known, the original 1957 production had a caller who would direct the dancers, but was removed in 1976.
Waiting at the Station
(Allen Toussaint / Twyla Tharp)
Created for the Pacific Northwest Ballet in 2013, Twyla Tharp's Waiting at the Station takes us back to the heady world of 1940's New Orleans as a father comes to terms with life (and death) whilst being pursuded by the Fates.
