Wonderful "Porgy"

I've seen several productions of Porgy and Bess, including the Broadway version with Audra McDonald. The current production at Seattle Opera is the best I've ever seen. All gorgeous voices, a moving and tight production, and a magnificent chorus. The audience was thrilled. I may even go to see it again during this run.

Afternoon with Porgy & Bess

Just a wonderful presentation! All were stars! We were late due to a minor auto incident. We could not of course be seated until the intermission but a lovely and accommodating usher “Andrea” more than made up to us for our late seating. She found us a comfortable seat in a small alcove in the lobby complete with house TV. It worked well until we could be seated. Andrea again returned to find us and accompanied us to our seats even waiting for us at a powder room stop. All in all an outstanding afternoon at the opera with many kudos to “Andrea” for her attention to excellence! She, too, counted as a star.

Amazing talent on the stage as well as in the orchestra! This production evokes emotions that cover the entire spectrum of social and personal life. It is, to me, an opera of jazz and blues that is as relevant in 2014 as it was at its debut in 1935! Don't miss this !
