I am a veteran of over 100 musicals and plays from Broadway, London’s West End, and touring groups across the US. This fresh adaptation of the movie was innovative ,eye popping and very, very, funny. Scene after scene, song after song took me on a journey of wonder and surprise. A huge reason for its success is the unflappable energy of the lead, Rob McClure. He sings, he dances, he juggles, he does 50 voices, he...well he is like a Decuple threat(look it up...it’s a thing 10X threat).

MRS. DOUBTFIRE
Outstanding adaptation of the original 1982 movie. It is fast paced, music is very good and the dialogue is very funny. The lead Rob McClure is hilarious, creative and full of energy. The play does not disappoint in any way.

WE WILL GLADLY SEE MRS DOUBTFIRE AGAIN!
We attended the Saturday, November 30th 8:00pm show and enjoyed it immensely. The show was very funny, had a wonderful cast and we were moved by the superb acting of the lead actor.
I will just say 98% of patrons will love the show. There will always be those who may not and they usually are sure to post which they have a right to do. This show will do great on Broadway and we are truly blessed to preview it here in Seattle. Thank you 5th Avenue Theatre!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT
I have seen other pre-Broadway tryouts and you often sense that there's some (or a lot of) room for improvement, which is normal.
Let me tell you something, this show is R-E-A-D-Y.
The movie is iconic, but Rob McClure is giving a star-making turn; absolutely marvelous and boy does he fill Robin William's shoes. What I loved about the production is that they maintained the movie's beloved formula: laugh-out-loud comedy (it is so so funny) without compromising its huge heart.
Everyone is so talented; the children, his brother and his partner, the dancers. The only 'critique' would be to the actress that played Miranda - she should be more fiery and less ingenue-ish (use Sally Field's blue-print and build your own interpretation!). The songs are more than good and you leave the theater humming a couple of them (which is a win for musicals these days). Kudos to Jerry Zaks the director; genius!
Highly recommended. GO!

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I’VE SEEN IN A WHILE!
I am a season ticket holder at the 5th Avenue theater, and it is our family tradition to attend holiday shows. I brought my family to see this show and we loved it. The kids had an amazing experience.

VERY STRONG CAST.
While Rob McClure was the star of the show. I saw him this summer in beatlejuice and I really like his energy. I was however most impressed with the performance of Jen Gambatese. A very strong presence and a great voice. My daughter loved the song "you've created a monster" a fun song but I thought the vocals were muddy. Not sure if it was the theaters sound system that was the problem.

MRS. DOUBTFIRE DOESN’T DISAPPOINT
Whether you’re a fan of the movie or not- there is so much to LOVE about Mrs. Doubtfire the musical. All of the beloved movie moments are there- but served up in a fresh and original way. Loved the changes made to musicalize this great story. And LOVE that Rob didn’t try to serve up a Robin Williams impression. Some key moments of his are preserved- but it was incredibly entertaining to see his take on Daniel Hilliard. I haven’t laughed at a show this hard in a long time. And just when My sides hurt from belly laugh after belly laugh- I found myself crying. This musical gets to the heart and sole it the characters and takes you on an incredibly fun and moving journey. The kids in the cast were superb. The actors playing Frank and Andre were especially memorable in their supporting roles. Rob McClure gives a performance you’ll be talking about for a while!!!! The sets and costumes were as impressive as the cast and truly top notch. Don’t miss this show.
