Get ready for the high school reunion of the decade in 2017!
A world premiere musical adaptation of sleeper indie-hit comedy Romy and Michele's High School Reunion is set to light up Seattle in 2017! Directed by the award-winning duo behind Rock Of Ages, Kristin Hanggi and Kelly Devine, follow the madcap adventure of friends Romy and Michele, who upon receiving invitations to their 10-year high school reunion, decide to fabricate careers to impress their peers, until it leads to competitiveness and the near-loss of their friendship.
The cult film hit originally starred Friends' Lisa Kudrow and film star Mira Sorvino as the eponymous duo, and became a firm fan favorite due to its upbeat Nineties soundtrack and ability to connect with its millennial audience. The musical stage adaptation sticks close to the original story, with a pop-inspired, Nineties-style original score by Gwendolyn Sanford and Brandon Jay, who jointly created the soundtrack to the cult tv dramedy Weeds.
