The Pulitzer-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau in conversation
One of the most recognisable cartoon strips in the world, Garry Trudeau's Doonesbury has been commenting on American society and politics through its roster of rich characters for over 40 years. A target of acclaim and controversy from both sides of the aisle, it was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning.
One figure who has made frequent appearances is Donald Trump, who has been cropping up since the early 80s, with a prophetic Trump as presidential candidate strip first published in 1987. Garry Trudeau comes to the Benaroya Hall this October to discuss just how he tackles President Trump in his drawings, and the state of political cartooning in 2018.
