The Seattle Symphony's Opening Night Concert
World renowned opera singer and soprano Renee Fleming brings her otherworldly presence and more than a touch of glamour to the opening night of the Seattle Symphony's brand new season, performing a programme including the works of classical greats Barber and Verdi, and perhaps most surprisingly Icelandic songstress Bjork.
Fiercely original in her chosen compositions, three-time Grammy Award winner Fleming featured two Bjork songs on the 2017 release of critically acclaimed album Distant Light. The album coincided with the diva's planned departure from the opera world and indicates a diverse repertoire that encompasses everything from chanson to Indie Rock.
Programme:
Overture to The School for Scandal - Samuel Barber
Knoxville: Summer of 1915 - Samuel Barber
Virus - Bjork
All Is Full Of Love - Bjork
Overture to La forza del destino - Verdi
Ombra di nube - Refice
Aprile - Tosti
L'altra notte in fondo al mare - Boito
Ebben? Ne andrĂ² lontana - Catalani
