Why See Seattle Symphony - Sibelius Kullervo?

Sibelius Kullervo

Thomas Dausgaard, principal guest conductor, gave an incredible performance at the Sibelius Festival in 2015. This year sees him bringing his insights into Sibelius' world with Kullervo.

Thomas Dausgaard will be joined onstage by "one of the most haunting" voices, soprano singer Maria Mannisto, celebrated baritone singer Benjamin Appl, the incredible Seattle Symphony Chorale and Americas leading orchestra, The Seattle Symphony.

What is Sibelius Kullervo about?

Deep in Finnish folk mythology, a young Sibelius embraces his true identity and nationality. In doing so, he raises pride and hope in Finland, and alters symphonic music forever.
