Why See Kidd Pivot?
Kidd Pivot Returns With Critically Acclaimed Bettroffenheit
Fusing contemporary dance and theatre with movement, original music and rich visuals, renowned Canadian dance company Kidd Pivot has pushed boundaries under the vision of famed founder and choreographer Crystal Pite since its inception in 2002. Together they are returning with the internationally acclaimed Bettroffenheit, a powerful mediation on trauma and grief co-produced by London's Electric Theatre Collective.
Both disturbing and moving, Bettroffenheit, which in German means a state of bewilderment following a traumatic event, explores the raw emotions that surface after said event has taken place, as well as coping mechanisms and the shocking, often abstract beauty of grief. Pite's electric, sensitive and nuanced choreography expertly carries the unbearably bittersweet weight of the piece's paramount importance.
Performance date: 23 March 2018
