Seattle Symphony - Debussy

Seattle Symphony - Debussy at Benaroya Hall

Why see Seattle Symphony - Debussy?

Ludovic Morlot Goes Out With A Classical Bang

For eight years, French maestro Ludovic Morlot has fearlessly led the Seattle Symphony through some of their most dynamic programs and performances. Celebrating his last ever appearance on stage as the world renowned ensemble's Music Director, Morlot is determined to throw a farewell party the likes of which the Benaroya Hall has never seen!

The pre-emminent conductor invites Finnish-American soprano Maria Mannisto, Slovakian tenor Ludovit Ludha and members of the Northwest Boychoir for rousing peformances of Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde and  Debussy's Pelleas et Melisande Suite and Nocturnes, coming to a close with Janacek's The Eternal Gospel, a mystery and drama-filled oratorio based on the medieval legend of Joachim of Flora, a Cistercian monk who is said to have conversed with an angel.
