Cellist Pablo Ferrndez takes to the stage with Seattle Symphony Orchestra in his debut performance at Benaroya Hall, presenting Antonin Dvok's wonderful Cello Concerto. Under the watchful eye of conductor Alpesh Chauhan, the Orchestra will also treat the audience to Rachmaninov's sweeping Second Symphony for a rousing show.
Dvok's Cello Concerto is seen as the pinnacle of Romantic composition, with enchanting melodies and skillful passages, beautifully demonstrating the cello's expressive capabilities. Rachmaninov's Second Symphony, meanwhile, was composed between 1906-1907 stands as a profound musical masterpiece, characterized by the composer's distinctive lush melodies, opulent orchestration, and compelling emotional depth.
