Why see Seattle Symphony - Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition?

Pictures at an Exhibition

Modest Mussorgsky's iconic Pictures at an Exhibition gets the Seattle Symphony treatment this September. A piece that was originally written for solo piano and was transformed into an orchestral masterpiece by Maurice Ravel, Pictures at an Exhibition was inspired by an art exhibition attended by Mussorgsky, with each movement representing a piece of artwork that was on display.

Pictures at an Exhibition is complemented by a program that also features Richard Wagner's Overture and Venuesberg Music from Tannhauser and Antonin Dvorak's Cello Concerto.

Concert Program:
Richard Wagner - Overture and Venuesberg Music from Tannhauser
Antonin Dvorak - Cello Concerto
