An ensemble of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra's finest join forces with the Dmitry Pokrovsky Ensemble to present a programme of traditional Russian folk music reflected in the works of iconic composers Stravinsky, Nikolaeve and Raskatov, helmed by resident music director and conductor Ludovic Morlot.
The world's leading performance group dedicated to the revival and survival of the Russian folk music tradition, the ensemble was founded in Moscow in 1973 by musician, scientist and prominent cultural researcher Dmitry Pokrovsky. The group collaborates with modern composers and filmmakers, including both modern and classical works in their repertoire.
