Pacific Northwest Ballet: Emergence at McCaw Hall

Why see Pacific Northwest Ballet: Emergence?

A dazzling bill!

The second program of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2015/16 season marks a welcome return for Crystal Pite's theatrical sci-fi fantasy Emergence, as well as a brand new work forthcoming from Corps de Ballet member Price Suddarth.

Program

Sum Stravinsky

Stravinsky/Kiyon Gaines

This vivid ballet concerns three different male-female couples showing symetry and beautifually contrasting positions to the composer's 'Dumbarton Oakes'.

The Calling

Anonymous c. 12th or 13th century/Jessica Lang

Jessica Lang's surrealist meditation sees a soloist take on this heavenly excpert from Splendid Isolation. Melodramatic and minimalistic, it is difficult to tear your eyes from this marvellous work.

New Suddarth

Barret Anspach/ Price Suddarth

More details to follow...

Emergence

Owen Bellon/Crystal Pite

This inventive work takes us into the heart of the hive, where the dancers must replicate the sharp movements of insects in this sci-fi spectacle. Spine-chilling, this 6 year old ballet is already an audience favorite and utter classic.
