Layne Staley became famous during the popular and iconic grunge movement of the 90s. He was the lead vocalist of rock band Alice in Chains and was noted for his distinct way of singing in the grunge and heavy metal band until his awful death at the age of 34 in 2002.

During their run, the band was one of the most successful of the 90s and managed to sell over 20 million records worldwide and received 9 Grammy nominations.
