Lamb of God returned last year with one of their most powerful and cohesive efforts. Inspired by vocalist Randy Blythe's manslaughter trial in the Czech republic and subsequent acquital, VII Sturm und Drung's lyrics explored themes of imprisonment, self-obsession and Czech history. Including the epic 'Overlord', the brutal 'A Devil in God's Country' and the mosh-pit ready 'Anthropoid', it was a resounding comeback record from one of modern metal's most revered groups.
