Giacomo Puccini's romance detailing a love affair between a poet and a seamstress who are both poor in Paris during the 19th century will be performed by the renowned Seattle Opera next May. Based on the book by Henri Murger, the touching tale premiered as an opera in Italy in 1896 and went on to be performed all over the globe.
Seattle Opera was founded in 1963 and has risen to become one of the country's most prominent opera companies and is recognized across the world. The opera will be performed in Italian with English subtitles.
