The irreverant Tony and Pulitzer winning musical about climbing the corporate ladder

Musicals

View from the Top

Winner of seven Tony awards and and the Pulitzer Prize, this irreverent 1960's musical proved to be a blockbuster hit in its day, and with the recent Mad men-inspired obsession with all things 1950s, it feels just as fresh now. It's the story of a young window cleaner who's looking to make his way in the world of corporate America with as little effort as possible, and the guide book which helps him do it. It was most recently revived on Broadway with Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role.

Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert wrote the book, while the swing-filled score came courtesy of Academy Award winner Frank Loesser. Among the standards included are 'I Believe in You', 'The Company Way', 'Rosemary Brotherhood of Man' and 'Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm'. This production, which is the first ever staging of the show by 5th Avenue Theatre, is directed by Bill Berry.

What is Succeed in Business About?

J. Following the guide's simple advice, Finch quickly climbs the corporate ladder at The World Wide Wicket Company, negotiating all the perils of 1950s office life along the way, from backstabbing co-workers to alluring secretaries.
