Marie, A New Musical

March 22 - April 14, 2019

Since its 1881 unveiling, Edgar Degas' sublime sculpture 'Little Dancer of Fourteen Years' has been a source of inspiration, intrigue, and speculation. In addition to his exquisite renderings of the dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, the work has long pressed viewers to wonder just who those subjects were, and what kind of lives that they led. Now, the team behind Ragtime, Once on This Island and more set out to answer some of those questions in this rich new musical that blends fact and fiction to bring us the tale of one young ballerina, and her connection to the famed artist.

Urinetown

April 6 - June 9, 2019

The parody to end all parodies, Mark Hollman's Urinetown cleaned up during its Broadway run's award season in 2004, winning three Tonys, three Outer Critics Circle, two Lucillle Lortel and two Obie Awards. The self-conscious satire left no stone unturned in its razor-sharp lampooning of capitalism, bureaucracy, municipal politics and the law, taking things even further by sticking its tongue out at Broadway blockbusters musicals by mimicking the likes of Threepenny Opera and Les Mis. Don't miss ACT Theatre's 5th Avenue revival of the outrageous musical during their brand new 2019 season.
